1. Warnings
Persons who regularly consume at least 3 alcoholic drinks daily must consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this drug or other fever and pain medications. Taking this drug may cause liver damage in such patients.
2. Do not do the following while taking this drug
This drug contains acetaminophen. Do not take together with other products containing acetaminophen, as administration in excess of the maximum daily dose (4,000mg) may cause liver damage.
3. Do not administer to the following patients
1) Patients with chlorzoxazone hypersensitivity
2) Patients with acetaminophen hypersensitivity
4. Be careful when administering to the following patients
1) Patients with severe liver or renal (kidney) impairment
2) Allergic patients or patients who had drug allergies
5. Adverse effects
1) Hypersensitivity : Discontinue administration if hypersensitivity such as hives, rubefaction (engorgement and redness) and itchiness occur. Allergic rashes, petechial hemorrhage, ecchymosis (discoloration of the skin resulting from bleeding underneath, typically caused by bruising), discoloration of urine, etc. may occur rarely. Very rarely, angioneurotic edema (swelling) or anaphylaxis symptoms may appear.
2) Liver : Chlorozoxazone may cause liver damage. Discontinue administration if liver function anomalies appear.
3) Digestive system : Stomach disorders may sometimes occur, and gastrointestinal bleeding may occur rarely.
4) Neuropsychiatric : Sleepiness, dizziness, headache, malaise, or excessive excitement may sometimes appear.
6. Administration to pregnant women
Safety not established for pregnant women; administer only if benefits of treatment are judged to outweigh risks for pregnant women or potentially pregnant women.
7. Interactions
Additive interaction occurs when administered concomitantly with alcohol or central nervous system depressants; administer carefully.
